Inpatient Service
An inpatient service is offered to patients with a problem related to their cancer or its treatment.
If you require physiotherapy a doctor from St. Luke's Hospital needs to fill out a physiotherapy referral from for you to be assessed and treated. This is to ensure that the problem you have is one that will benefit from physiotherapy.

Preventing and treating breathing difficulties

Teaching techniques to help control certain types of breathlessness

Giving exercises and advice following certain types of surgery and Radiotherapy

Maintaining and improving physical fitness during and after some types of chemotherapy

Assessing and teaching exercises to people with muscle weakness

Assessing and treating weakness and paralysis caused by brain and spinal tumours

Helping to control certain types of pain

Assisting patients with problems of balance and co-ordination

Assessing for and providing equipment such as sticks, crutches and frames to improve safety and help with walking
