How to Access the Nutrition and Dietetic Services

Hours of opening:

The Department of Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
It is closed at weekends and on Bank Holidays

How to get referred to the service:

If you would like to see a dietitian, a doctor from St. Luke’s Hospital must fill out a dietitian referral form in order for you to be assessed and treated. Once the dietitian receives this form she will contact you for your appointment. Referrals will be prioritized on receipt, based on the information provided by the medical team.

Our services include education, assessment and counselling in:

- Therapeutic diets
- Nutrition build-up during radiotherapy
- Management of treatment side effects
- Management of specialised feeding regimens e.g. tube feeding.
- Nutrition education for patients, families and carers.

The service also provides information on diet at support groups such as the "Learning to live with Cancer" programme, the head and neck & the breast support groups.
