Diagnostic Imaging Department
The Diagnostic Imaging, or X-ray department as it is often called, carries out a variety of imaging examinations for both in patients and out patients. These examinations can include plain film X-rays, ultrasound scans, CT Scans (Computed Tomography), a process called Fluoroscopy or Image Guided Biopsies.
The imaging examinations play a large part in planning your treatment and are also used to assess your treatment response and to monitor your progress. The examinations are carried out by trained Radiographers and all results are viewed and reported by a Consultant Radiologist.
